Sausage Dip Ingredients
- 1 lb ground breakfast sausage (or preferred sausage)
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10 oz) Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the dip.
- Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until it is browned and crumbly. Drain any excess fat to avoid a greasy dip.
- Mix the Dip: In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, Rotel (with juices), garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is fully combined and creamy.
- Bake: Transfer the mixture to a small baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the dip is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the dip to cool slightly. Serve warm with tortilla chips, toasted bread, or crackers for dipping.
Notes
- You can substitute the ground breakfast sausage with turkey sausage or a plant-based sausage for a different flavor or dietary preference.
- If you prefer a spicier dip, use a hotter variety of Rotel or add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- For extra creaminess, stir in a little sour cream before baking.
- This dip can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
