Description

Delicious and easy Meat Lovers Pizza Tacos combine the best of pizza and tacos with a hearty blend of ground beef, Italian sausage, pepperoni, and melted cheese on crispy flour tortillas. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or game day snack, these pizza tacos bake to perfection with savory pizza sauce, olives, and a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage, crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Toppings

  • 1/2 lb pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Additional Ingredients

  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • Optional garnishes: chopped basil, grated Parmesan, red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Cook the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until fully browned, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat. Add dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine. Set the meat mixture aside.
  2. Prepare Tortillas: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce evenly over each of the 8 small flour tortillas placed on a flat surface.
  3. Add Toppings: Distribute the cooked meat mixture evenly over each tortilla. Then add pepperoni slices and sliced black olives. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese generously on top.
  4. Bake the Tacos: Place the assembled tortillas on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the edges of the tortillas become crispy.
  5. Serve: Remove the pizza tacos from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with optional chopped basil, grated Parmesan, and red pepper flakes if desired. Cut each pizza taco into wedges and serve warm.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize toppings with mushrooms, onions, or bell peppers.
  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas if preferred.
  • For extra crispiness, lightly brush the tortillas with olive oil before baking.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven or microwave, though texture will be best fresh.
